A 2016 graduate of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, Laureen earned her J.D., in the field of litigation. While attending Cooley, she earned a Certificate of Merit in Modern Real Estate Transactions, completed the public sector law clinic internship, and made the dean’s list four times.
Prior to attending Cooley Law School, Laureen earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Property Assessment Administration from Siena Heights University. As a Level 4 Michigan Assessor, and property tax consultant, she has a comprehensive knowledge of property valuation and Michigan Property Tax Laws. She has an MMAO4 Michigan Assessor Certificate and is a Certified Assessment Elevator (C.A.E.) with the International Association of Assessing Officers (I.A.A.O.) Laureen serves on the I.A.A.O. editorial review board.
Laureen is a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Society. She is the Chairperson of the Legal Civility Subcommittee for the WMU Cooley Center for Civil Discourse and is on the Steering Committee and the Advisory Board for the Center.
Laureen is skilled in litigation, commercial and industrial property tax appeals, real estate, business, municipal, mediation, negotiation, public speaking, and facilitation. She is a State Of Michigan trained mediator for General Civil, Domestic Relations and Civil Rights.
