Will graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Colley Law School in 1980 and was admitted to the Michigan bar in November of that year. For the next five years he was in private practice, specializing in title insurance, landlord-tenant law and criminal defense. In November 1985 he joined the Michigan State Housing Development Authority as a staff attorney. He worked there, specializing in affordable housing, for the next 34 years, retiring in March 2020 as MSHDA’s Deputy Director of Legal Affairs.
Will is active in the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar. For many years he was the chair of that Section’s Titles and Conveyancing Committee. Thereafter he served for six years on the Section’s governing council. He has had 10 articles published in the Section’s Real Property Law Review and has presented many seminars for the Section and for others. He also served for six years on the Institute for Continuing Education’s Real Estate Advisory Committee.
